Delta Strengthened to Category 3; It Could Further Reach to Category 4

Delta turned to a category 3 Hurricane in the Caribbean Sea, with maximum winds of 115 mph. warning from National Hurricane Center. 

Now the third major hurricane of the 2020 season, it is expected to further strengthen before making landfall. It could become a Cat. 4 later today. It may clip Yucatan before heading into the Gulf on Wednesday.

 Reports From a Noaa Hurricane Hunter Aircraft indicate Delta is now a category three Hurricane. Expected to be an extremely dangerous Hurricane when it reaches the Northeastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, NHC updated.

Delta was a category 2 Hurricane with a winds of 100mph as Delta was located 125 miles south of Grand Cayman. 

 Heavy rainfall warning to the parts of Cayman Island, Western Cuba and northern Island of Peninsula through midweek. Rainfall could lead to flash flooding and mud mudslides.

However, the Hurricane Delta was on a course to pass by the Cayman Islands early Tuesday before hitting Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula potentially as a major storm and continuing on to strike the U.S. Gulf coast later in the week.

Delta is the first major Atlantic hurricane during October since Michael.
