2 Rohingya Men Killed during the Clashes on Supremacy

The bodies of two Rohingya men were recovered from Kutupalong Camp in Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday morning.

At least 15 Rohingyas were injured and seven houses were burned during sporadic clashes between block D and block E of the Kutupalong camp in Ukhiya upazila over establishing supremacy.

The deceased has been identified as Imam Sharif, 30, and Shamsul Alam, 28.

The gunfight took place between two groups of Rohingya "criminals" over "establishing supremacy in the area" earlier today, said Ms Samsuddoza Nayan, additional repatriation, rehabilitation, and relief officer.

"In this continuity, the clashes took place in the early hours of Sunday. Previously on September 30, a similar incident had taken place, in which 15 people were injured.

Ukhiya police station Officer-in-Charge Gazi Salauddin said: "Additional troops were deployed in the spot. Currently the situation is under control. The bodies were sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal actions are being taken in this regard."
