New: Sally Has Weakened to Category 1; Threatening Flooding Continues in Gulf Coast- NHC
Hurricane Sally, which made landfall earlier this morning in Alabama as a Category 2 storm, has weakened into a Category 1, according to the National Hurricane Center.
However the life threatening flooding are still possible in the Gulf Coast, NHC added.
Hurricane-force winds are still spreading over Alabama and parts of the Florida Panhandle, the center said.
