15th Test also Positive for Coronavirus; Sufferings of Maqsood, A Cancer Patient

15th Test also Tested Positive for Coronavirus; Sufferings of Maqsood, A Cancer Patient

No fever, no sore throat, no shortness of breath. But Covid 19 does't show negative even in the 15 tests conducted so far in different labs.

The Dome Facility of the National Sports Club of India in Worli, Mumbai was converted into a care center in the event of an emergency.

Maqsood Khan, who came there as a Covid positive, is now that care center changed as his home. Thirty-five-year-old is also a leukemia patient too.

When he arrived at the center, hundreds of people recovered from their illness. About 250 people with cancer like him have returned home happily with their negative tests. However, Maqsood Khan's illness is not cured yet and he is unable to go home.

The problem is BMC's protocol that those who are admitted here will not be returned unless the test is negative. He has no particular symptoms now. No fever, no sore throat, no shortness of breath. But Covid has not tested negative in any of the 15 tests conducted so far in different labs. There is a suspicion that this is due to his cancer drugs.

Maqsood Khan arrived in Mumbai from a village in Uttar Pradesh in December to seek better treatment for his cancer. He has undergone nine chemotherapy sessions since his arrival. On May 26, he tested positive for Covid with fever and body pain. He was transferred to NSCI's Covid Care Center before his cancer treatment could be completed. He has been living in a special ward for cancer patients ever since.

Within the first week, all the parameters, including the oxygen level, improved and the doctors sent for Maqsood Khan's swab. After the second test was positive and he had no symptoms, the doctors then performed thirteen more tests at various centers, out of suspicion that it might be a mistake at the testing center. Everything was positive. He has no fever, no cold, no headache.

Doctors say he is physically healthy. Vitamin C supplements are the only medication given. There he does yoga and meditation. There is steam trapping and hot water shaking. No matter what is done, the result of the test alone is not negative. Doctors will not be able to discharge Khan as there is a strict instruction from the Municipal Corporation not to leave the person without the result being negative.

"I miss my wife and children very much. I came to Mumbai to survive cancer. Now I am stuck here," Khan told the Mumbai Mirror.

What doctors have to say about Maqsood Khan is, "We have never seen a case like this before. We went to another lab thinking that one lab result would be wrong, but there are still positive results. It's amazing."

Doctors have taken a swab sample of Maqsood Khan for the 16th time and left it for testing. Maqsood Khan is optimistic that the result will be Covid negative this time around and that he will go home and see his wife and children. Doctors also expect the upcoming result on Friday to be negative.
