BTS' Dynamite Hits Record Views 101.1 Million 24 Hours; Highest Ever in YouTube History

Korean pop group BTS has set a new record for most views of a music video on YouTube in its first 24 hours of release.

It is officially confirmed by Youtube that, BTS is the only and first act in the history to achieve the milestone 101.1 million views in 24 hours.

Dance track "Dynamite," BTS' first English-language song, earned 98.3 million views in the 24 hours since it was posted Friday at midnight EDT, as speculated by fans. However, on August 23 KST, the streaming service confirmed that the actual sat around roughly 101.1 million.

This confirmed number secures "Dynamite" as the music video with the highest amount of views in YouTube history, gaining more than 14.8 million more first-day views than previous record holder, BLACKPINK's "How You Like That."

"How You Like That" -- by K-pop group Blackpink -- was the previous record holder, earning 86.3 million views in the first 24 hours when it was released in June.
