Racism: Dalit Brutally Attacked in India for Allegedly 'Touching the Bike' of Upper Class

Dalit family beaten up by mob for allegedly touching bike .The incident took place in Vijayapura district of Karnataka in India. Video footage has emerged of a Dalit youth being beaten with a stick and shoes by a group of upper class people. The mob also stripped the young man naked and assaulted his family. Police have registered a case against 13 people on the basis of the youth's complaint.

The incident took place in a village 530 km from Bengaluru. The victim was a Dalit family from Minaji village. Police say the young man and his family were attacked by about 13 people after they accidentally touched the bike of an upper caste man. The case has been registered under SC / ST Act and Sections 143,147, 324, 354, 504, 506 and 149 of the IPC.


Video clips of a dalit youth being beaten to the ground were released. In the wake of Covid, the upper caste mob unleashed violence against the dalit family despite restrictions on mobilization. The corona virus was confirmed in more than 4,000 people in Karnataka yesterday. A total of 63,772 people were infected in the state.
