The World Environmental day of this year witnessed to a dreadful condition by the ‘Arctic oil spill’.  President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia has declared a state of emergency in a region in northern Siberia after a huge oil spill turned a river crimson . More than 20000 tons of oil have spilled the Ambarnath River bear the city of Norilsk on last Friday and it have threatened to inflict significant damage to the Arctic environment.

The leak occurred by the collapsing of  a fuel tank at a power plant. ‘ Thawing permafrost had caused one of the tank’s pillar to collapse. The oil leaked more than seven miles from the site’ said Norilsk Nickel,the owner of plant in a statement. 
Oil ministers from the organisation of the petroleum Exporting Countries and other producers of Russia came in a video conference on Saturday and made an agreement to continue cutting 9.7 million barrels a day or about 10 percentage of global output in normal times through July.
It’s the biggest oil leak in Russia’s history.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Saudi oil minister, noted that concern in a speech to the OPEC Plus meeting, which he headed.“Demand is returning as big oil-consuming economies emerge from pandemic lock down,” he said. “But we are not out of the woods yet.”
