Latvia has been  erected a large statue honouring all the health workers who struggled against the pandemic Covid 19 in the front line.

Monument shows female medical professional in face mask and gloves with outstretched arms. 

“The statue is dedicated to medics in Latvia and around the world, praising their selfless courage and care during the Covid-19 outbreak”, the European League of Institutes of the Arts said.

Around 1,100 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Latvia – where the statue honouring healthcare workers was erected – as of Friday, according to a Reuters global count.

Health workers are playing crucial role to battling against these deadly virus all around the world and ensuring huge support and restless care to the patients.

People around the world honouring and celebrating these key workers by applauding and cheering by showing the appreciation to them.This monument is a great honour to the struggling health workers around the world.

“The three-month long lock down period and fear for their lives has made the people change their perspective towards doctors, nurses and other medical staff,” Mr Bikse said, according to a Latvian broadcaster.
