June 7 World Food Safety Day - New Theme
The second World food safety day is celebrating on June 7 of 2020 , following the success of the first celebration in 2019.

Under the theme “ Food safety, everyone’s business” , the action oriented campaign will promote global food safety awareness and call upon countries,decision makers,the private sector,civil society and UN organisations and the general public to take action.

According to WHO, The food safety day is celebrating to make an awareness among the people as inspire the action to prevent, detect and manage food borne risks, contributing to food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism and sustainable development.

Around 600 million cases of food borne illnesses  anually reporting, unsafe food will cause to vulnerable problems to the society , an estimated 3 million people around the world die every year due to food and waterborne diseases.

WHO added that, ‘Following the success of the first celebration in 2019, this year again WFSD reinforces the call to strengthen commitment to scale up food safety made by the Addis Ababa Conference and the Geneva Forum in 2019 under the umbrella of “The Future of Food Safety”.  WHO, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is pleased to facilitate Member States efforts to celebrate the World Food Safety Day.’
