Four Arrested for the Killing of Uganda's Rare Silver back Mountain Gorilla

Four men have been detained in connection with the killing of a 25 year old male gorilla, named Rafiki, at UNESCO park.

It was a rare silver back mountain gorilla and is popular for the tourists. Rafiki was killed in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after going missing on June 1. His body was found the next day.

In a statement, the state run Uganda Wildlife Authority said the four men were detained for their role in the death of Rafiki.

The four men have been arrested and they face a life sentence or a fine of $5.4m if found guilty of killing an endangered species.
