The corona virus spreads reached at a hike as such that a new one- day high of about 150,000 new confirmed cases said WHO.

"The world is in a new and dangerous phase," Tedros Adhanom, WHO Director General said. "Many people are understandably fed up with being at home. Countries are understandably eager to open up their societies and economies, but the virus is still spreading fast. It is still deadly, and most people are still susceptible."
Almost half of those cases were reported in the Americas, Tedros said at a press conference.
As well as the America’s , a large number of new cases were coming from South Asia and the Middle East, he added.

Tedros urged countries and organisations to continue to focus on the more preventive care such as proper sanitation and social distancing.
He also pointed out the about the spread of the corona virus in refugee communities across the world as well as refugees’ precarious economic situations.

WHO emergencies expert Mike Ryan drew attention to the situation in Brazil, where he said there had been 1,230 additional COVID-19 deaths in the previous 24 hours. About 12 per cent of infections in Brazil involved healthcare workers, he added, praising their bravery.
