59 Chinese Apps Including Tik Tok have been Banned in India

India banned 59 Chinese apps including the most popular Tik Tok app on Monday amid border tensions with China.

Many other popular apps like Shareit, Helo, Shein, Likee, WeChat, UC Browser figured among the list of banned Chinese apps.

This is a major attack to the Chinese economy. 
The move is aimed at safeguarding the interests of cores of Indian mobile and internet users. 

“ This decision is a targeted move to ensure the safety and sovereignty of Indian cyberspace," the Ministry of Information Technology said in a notification.

The list of Apps:

In the notification, the ministry said it has received many complaints from various sources including several reports about misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India. "The compilation of these data, its mining and profiling by elements hostile to national security and defense of India, which ultimately impinges upon the sovereignty and integrity of India, is a matter of very deep and immediate concern which requires emergency measures," the ministry further said.
